Musical Genius Anthony Braxton on Chess, Math & Music

Anthony Braxton is an American composer, saxophonist, clarinettist, flautist, pianist and philosopher. He may also be the last bona-fide Jazz genius, with a highly idiosyncratic style and originality. In this interview Braxton discusses chess, math and music. Interestingly, he describes about the obsession he had with chess ... "but I had to get away from chess because I couldn't stop, I couldn't go back to life." [See H.G. Wells quote]
Braxton is also notorious for naming his musical pieces as diagrams - example shown in this graphic (Composition No. 65).
